La quatrième station (8 x 7 inches), a ditigal intaglio print using the Image-on process.
This is the first print that I made during the course of my studies with master printer Brandon Gunn, on the subject of contemporary print processes. The image combines a digitalized image of one my drawings on mylar and a photograph that I took in the Montreal metro, both of which were superimposed in Photoshop. The Image-on film used for this print was exposed and developed and made to adhere to the copper plate, which in this instance does not involve etching in acid.
The main disadvantage of the Image-on process is that the film tends to weaken and somewhat dissolve during printing at the press, resulting in a very limited edition.
